Dear Breeze follows a young woman drifting through the monotony of summer, trapped between a sense of idleness and the desire to depart. She is unable to leave, yet uncertain where she could go, suspended in a journey that never truly begins. Composed through Super 8 film, digital video, and photographic collage, the work employs loose reenactment to reimagine and deconstruct the visual language of vintage airline advertisements from East Asia. Blurring the lines between reality and fiction, memory with fantasy, the film dissects appropriated imagery of commercials and vintage ephemera, revealing how tropes of romantic travel,  femininity, and consumer desires are constructed and perpetuated.
